Sustainability
Story:
Protecting People
and the Planet
It is our mission to be the most sustainable textiles company in the world. For us, -this means creating long-term, sustainable value which goes far beyond the consideration of consumption metrics: it includes the entire life cycle of our TorTex™ fabric, from how it is made, sold, worn and eventually retired.
“Our long-term business strategy ‘Protecting people and the planet’ is based on the core belief that, through doing business in a responsible and sustainable way, we have the power to change the future for generations to come.
As a company, we do not only see sustainability as an opportunity to minimize our footprint, but we also see it as an opportunity to maximize our competitive advantage and the value of our business.
We are proud of our commitment to sustainability and the development of SDG Goal 13 “Climate Action in the Textile Industry” and work hard every day to inspire and enable our customers, partners and investors to make better decisions and keep driving change in our industry by leading by example. Our roots are from Norrland where tough climate challenges have led to recycling and reuse of scarce natural resources
that are ingrained in the people.
We always return to our homestead every year like the swallows do. This makes us appreciate nature and maintain our belief in sustainability. In high school, I studied natural science with a focus on environmental technology where we analyzed water, land and working environments. This was in the beginning of the 1990s. Also, we have more than 50 years as textile teaching expertise with the specialty of material knowledge in my mother as founder including running an entrepreneurial family garment business in the 1980s-1990s.”
