HealthTextiles, an innovative Swedish company in health textiles based in Gävle, has been granted business support from Region Gävleborg to strengthen its international patent initiative. The support enables the company’s continued expansion and boosts its competitiveness in the global market.

“Region Gävleborg has been a very important player in supporting HealthTextiles’ development – from the first micro-grant that helped build our supply chain to the latest business support for international patent applications,” says Tomas Persson, founder and owner of HealthTextiles.

With support from Region Gävleborg, granted under Section 7 of the Regulation (2022:1468) on State Aid to Promote Regional Business Development, HealthTextiles will engage external consultants with specialist expertise in intellectual property rights. The investment makes it possible to secure patent protection for the company’s innovations in international markets – a key strategy for growth and a potential future exit.

The region’s decision aligns with its priority to strengthen innovation capacity in Gävleborg and promote employment. The investment allows HealthTextiles to scale up operations and take the next step in its international growth journey.
