New Venture Competition Regional Finale

STOCKHOLM, Sweden: HealthTextiles, a leading innovative manufacturer that combines the latest technologies with heritage craftsmanship for world-class production of PPE, has been awarded a finalist for Europe in Harvard Business School’s New Venture Competition.

The New Venture Competition Alumni Track serves as a launch pad for innovative new ventures from Harvard Business School alumni, providing access and exposure to potential investors, mentors, and advisors. The competition is open to alumni with early-stage ventures, and winners receive an invitation to the Global Finals Round and NVC Finale.

Tomas Persson, founder & owner of HealthTextiles studied a Masters of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, graduating in 2004. Persson focused on entrepreneurial classes during his second year, the elective curriculum, such as entrepreneurial marketing, international entrepreneurial finance, innovation management & product development, board of Directors & corporate governance, negotiation of complex deals & disputes, and Venture Capital Private Equity (VCPE).

”We are happy to be selected to the European finale as one of 26 companies that applied,” says Persson. “This is quality approval that HealthTextiles is one of the leading startups coming out of Sweden in the healthcare (PPE) and sustainability sector with probably the best garments for healthcare and sports with our unique TorTex fabrics.”

The competition was judged by Executive Committee Members of Harvard Business School Club of France including Jérôme Brunet, Partner at Bain & Company.

”The  jury members recognised that HealthTextiles’ patented innovation could benefit the world in several ways, with its diverse applications and markets,” said Isabelle Roux-Buisson. “The founder and CEO is in the process of assembling a strong team: with great execution, HealthTextiles has the potential become a truly great and significant company.”
