HealthTextiles Selected by Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare to Showcase at World’s Greenest Hospital
STOCKHOLM, Sweden: HealthTextiles, a leading innovative manufacturer that combines the latest technologies with heritage craftsmanship for world-class production of PPE, today announced the company has been selected to showcase at the World’s Greenest Hospital.
Selected by the Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare, HealthTextiles will showcase its sustainable healthcare uniforms at Grønnköpingkið, the digital fictional hospital created to showcase Nordic sustainable healthcare solutions.
HealthTextiles will showcase its healthcare uniforms in the hospital’s “International Area”, a category which gathers solutions that are not yet installed in Nordic Hospitals, but which have a high sustainability performance and are simply too good not to include.
Made from an optimal level of sustainable and biodegradable natural fibres, HealthTextiles has created a new standard for PPE, with their antimicrobial TorTex™ fabric which prevents 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.
“We are proud to have been selected to showcase our world-class TorTex™ fabric uniforms powered by 37.5 technology at this important program working towards the future of Nordic sustainability,” says Tomas Persson, Chairman, HealthTextiles.
Helping lower the impact of single-use medical protective clothing items on the environment, TorTex™ organic antimicrobial capability is without coatings such as silver and nano silver. By avoiding silver, TorTex™ helps reduce the risks of antibiotic resistance and environmental pollution. TorTex™ does not release any harmful substances that have been verified by Hohenstein’s Cytotoxic test.
“We want Grønnköpingkið to showcase sustainable solutions like HealthTextiles for a global audience, to show what’s on the market and make it easier to turn healthcare systems green,” says Daniel Eriksson, founder of Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare.
Recently awarded Best Healthcare Uniform Provider by Global Health & Pharma, the Swedish scaleup’s mission is to reduce, and ultimately eliminate healthcare-associated infections by developing the world’s most advanced PPE, protecting HCWs from pathogen exposure during patient care.
Founded by Harvard MBA and entrepreneur Tomas Persson, textiles expert Birgitta Persson and public service leader Torgny Persson, HealthTextiles is a Swedish scaleup that has been selected into EIT Health’s Bridgehead programme and was awarded by Ahlgrens Foundation in 2018 & 2020 as one of the most innovative startups in the Gävleborg region.
