Hospital Wear Test Shows 98% of Healthcare Workers Prefer Uniforms
with TorTex™ Fabric Powered by 37.5® Technology During Summer

HealthTextiles, a leading innovative manufacturer that combines the latest technologies with heritage craftsmanship for world-class production of PPE, today revealed the results of a recent hospital wear test in Portugal.

The survey was conducted with a multidisciplinary team at Hospital de Cantanhede during the summer of 2021, the same facility that tested HealthTextiles uniforms earlier this year as part of this autumn survey.

“Our north star mission at HealthTextiles is to improve the lives of healthcare professionals and help keep workers and their patients safe and comfortable. Bringing innovative new technologies to the healthcare uniform market is just one of the ways we are striving towards this goal, and we are grateful to our partners at EIT Health, EIT Health catalysts in Portugal, 37.5® Technology and the teams at Hospital de Cantanhede and Domus Vida Parede Residence for their support in this journey with the two wear tests during the pandemic” said Tomas Persson, Chairman, HealthTextiles.

The uniforms were tested by 40 professionals from all areas of healthcare — including nurses, doctors, psychologists, operational assistants, and therapeutic technicians. Overall, HealthTextiles passed the wear test with distinction, with 98% (or 39 out of 40 participants) preferring TorTex™ uniforms over their current uniform — versus 73% in the late autumn survey.

Participants were asked 7 comfort related questions comparing a TorTex™ uniform with 37.5® Technology to the hospital’s current uniform. On average, participants felt more comfortable in the TorTex™ uniform in 5 out of 6 areas related to comfort: sensorial comfort, temperature regulation (hot and cold), dry times, and overall comfort.
